My name is C.J. McCammon. I am a long-time student of dog training providing professional services to the community. I am currently the acting president of the National Kishu Club, a North American breed club for the at-risk Kishu Ken breed and located in Taos, New Mexico, after the 2020 fires in Clackamas County, Oregon, and other economic factors pushed me from my home. I have a personal crew of 6 Kishu Ken who are variously titled in companion sports and conformation which I have been active in since 2015.
I am currently residing in the Carson National Forest outside of Taos, New Mexico, and I hope to provide quality, meaningful services to the community while I am working my way back home to Oregon.
I will soon be offering Canine Good Citizen testing and Trick Dog testing through the American Kennel Club programs if there is interest within Taos. Next on my plate will be applying for my CPDT-KA.
Roaming Hound was built on and believes in an education-first policy and uses LIMA (Least Intrusive, Minimally Aversive) dog training philosophy to train people and their pets. I do not provide board and train services for any dog except those who are homeless in need of training before adoption or rehoming. Whenever possible, my goal is to keep dogs and the community safe, happy, and in their homes by helping the owner and grow their knowledge on how to train and care for their pets first.
